Default <3 Dragon Slash + "For Great Justice"

Just over the weekend I noticed I could do stuff like use For Great Justice + Tiger Stance, quicky generating the adrenaline for Silverwing Slash (an exact copy of Galrath Slash), which lead to Dragon Slash, which IMMEDIATELY generated the 8 adrenaline for another Silverwing Slash (thanks to double adrenaline gain from FGJ). With Galrath Slash too, that's 5 hard hitting attacks back-to-back:

attack->attack->attack->attack->Silverwing->Galrath->Dragon->Silverwing->Galrath

Under Tiger Stance for a 33% attack speed boost, the first 4 attacks happen quite fast.

My favourite Dragon slash combo was to build up adrenaline for dragon slash, then: "For Great Justice!", Sun and Moon Slash, Dragon Slash, Sun and Moon Slash, Dragon Slash, Sun and Moon Slash, Dragon Slash, Sun and Moon Slash, Dragon Slash until "For great justice!" ran out basically, with swordsmanship high enough to get the +5 off dragon slash, you can alternate those two skills almost indefinitely, which is ouchies for all PvE monsters I came across with IAS it would be even more deadly, but I didnt get round to trying it.

Oh no.....please don't post it here. I don't wanna see those axe warriors change back to sword. I want them to stick with their axes and keep using their so-called "best" combo --- pene-evis-exec

Sorry, but I am switching back to sword... I've always been a fan of sword, but once I started doing PvP, I could never get into groups because I used a sword. Perhaps now I can get into a group (specifically at Heros' Ascent) with my favourite warrior weapon, the sword.

Finally a sword combo thats worth a dam. that looks like some pretty good combo. I think it is about time Anet make swords more powerful.

Swords have always been > axes in my books. I don't care about numbers and all that brouhaha, swords are better than axes.

The only problem I have with Dragon Slash is the way it synergizes (that even a word?) with Final Thrust. Both require 10 adrenaline, and if you're going to spike those 4 strikes gained just go to waste. Seems hard to not put the strongest hitting sword skill on your bar, but whether or not the adrenaline chains you can put together are stronger as a result... I'll let the number crunchers figure it out.

If you can really string them along like that, you're 'spike' would be a long drawn out increased damage burst rather than an actual spike. It would be intresting to see how the numbers added up.

The only problem being once the spike starts (in PvP at least), a Protective Spirit would probably be tossed up. As such, damage is going to be wasted, not to mention deep wound didn't get thrown into the chain.

Better yet, combo Dragon Slash with Sun and Moon Slash. Under "For Great Justice" you can literaly alternate Sun&Moon with Dragon Slash as fast as you can swing. You'll need around 15 sword at least for such a combo however. Great for PvE, kinda risky in PvP, since the first time Dragon Slash misses, your chain of attacks ends.

Sever > Gash > Final is a great combo. Not only that but it is a hell of a lot better than this one, due to it's spike-ablity.

Dragon, sun, moon slash? Are these new sword skills from Factions or from an update? I didn't see any of these on the war skill listings but maybe since it's just not updated yet or maybe it's from the Factions preview weekend........

New skills from Factions, yes.

I just wish this wouldn't be the necessity in Factions, but since sword warriors didn't get another way to inflict bleeding or deep wound, I fear this may remain the case for us sword swinging types.

Finally...a sword elite that is good and is not Hundred Blades. When i used it in factions i hit tiger stance+for great, hit sever+gash, then i just stayed in the dragon+whatever slash cycle. worked real nice.

Eviscerate + Exe. Strike + etc. is still going to be the most powerful even with said new combo.

Why?

2 words...

Deep Wound

In less skills than a sword, an axe can do just as much.

I abandoned sword not because of its damage, well, ok, it's damage in pve...
In pvp a sword could be better than an axe really... Cause of bleeding.

But for a multi-dimensional gamer like me, PvE is part of the game I love to play and sword sux in PvE all the time. No deep wound? No Bleeding? No Skill Locking with a sword either...

Nothing like Disrupting Chop to stuff that Res signet... For me, Axe is still > than sword even with Factions...

Also, don't forget, a heavy crit with axe beats a sword all the time every time...

I like Axes more than swords as well. But they both have their strong points.
